The Welcome Collaborative is a 4-day orientation program which aims to support internationally trained physicians successfully integrate into medical practice in Nova Scotia.

In 2025, the program welcomed 90 physicians into practice in Nova Scotia.

Of the 90 physicians who participated in the program, 59 were family medicine specialists and 31 practised in other specialties, including internal medicine, psychiatry, and emergency medicine.

This year, 41 physicians on a Defined licence made up the majority of the participants in the Welcome Collaborative program, while 30 were on a Full licence, 16 were on a Clinical Assessment licence, and three were on an Academic license.
