13 Physicians Attend Orientation Session
In June, 13 physicians participated in the Welcome Collaborative held at the College along with Dr. Keri McAdoo (front row, third from the left) the College’s Deptuy Registrar along with George Chimdi Mbara (back row, fifth from the left), Program Manager, Welcome Collaborative.
The Welcome Collaborative orientation program supports the integration of physicians trained outside of Canada (PTOCs) to successfully practice in the Nova Scotian healthcare system.
In June, 13 physicians attended the 3-day orientation session delivered at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia. Of the participating physicians, one holds a Full licence, one holds an Academic licence, one holds a Clinical Assistant licence, while 10 have been issued a Defined licence and, as such, are under supervision on a pathway to independent licensure. This physician cohort included the following specialists: three in family medicine, three in internal medicine, two in obstetrics and gynaecology, two in anesthesiology, one in dermatology, one in psychiatry and one clinical assistant.
